Gov. Ron DeSantis Admits That Trump Lost In 2020 During Interview

After years of being asked, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has finally answered the question of whether or not he thinks former President Donald Trump won the 2020 election.

During an exclusive interview with NBC News’ Dasha Burns on Sunday, DeSantis was asked by Burns to give a yes or no answer to the question of Trump’s defeat. He took the opportunity to say, “Whoever puts their hand on the Bible on Jan. 20th every four years is the winner.” Burns continued to push for a clear answer, and DeSantis finally responded with “No, of course he lost. Joe Biden’s the president.”

That doesn’t mean DeSantis thinks the 2020 election was well-run. In fact, he went on to tell Burns that “I don’t think it was a good-run election,” then added, “But I also think Republicans didn’t fight back.” The latest polling data from FiveThirtyEight has Trump leading the field of Republican nominees with 53.3%, while DeSantis is a distant second in the field with 14.3%.
