Fans of Sriracha are suffering and there’s no end in sight. The beloved spicy sauce is becoming harder to find on store shelves and people are getting desperate. As a result, the black market is booming.

Prices for Sriracha are as high as $70 for a 28-ounce bottle on eBay and they’re even more on Amazon, where one seller is listing a 2-pack for $124. But is anyone actually paying that much? It’s hard to imagine they are, considering a 17-ounce bottle typically sells for around $5.

Huy Fong Foods, the company that makes the most recognized brand of sauce in the U.S., the one with a green cap and the rooster on it, blames a shortage of materials. They have a limited supply of the chili peppers needed to make it, which has been going on for the past three years, and according to a spokesperson, “At this time, we have no estimations of when supply will increase.”
