Grandmother Saves 5-Year-Old Granddaughter From Burning Apartment

When Jacqueline Roberts‘ Hampton, Georgia, townhome caught fire last week, everyone in her family escaped unharmed except her and her five-year-old granddaughter, Autumn.

Roberts found Autumn, but their only way out was through a second-story window, so she lowered her granddaughter down as much as possible before dropping her and then jumped out of the window, breaking both of her ankles.

Even though the 52-year-old grandmother needed surgery on both ankles, has a long road to recovery, and lost everything in the fire, she’s still grateful because everyone made it out alive.
